Tonight I think I'm going to go outside And shed all of my darkness to the sky The downs can pool like water in my shoes And weight so great, I only hope to lose But I'll keep on leaning in To the cold winter kiss upon my skin And the devil in the detail again And again Life's too good to waste Tonight I'm gonna shine on like the sun For every hour I've lost there's two I've won The rain has made the mountain I've become I'll stand until I'm sand and time has done And all of the loved ones who've gone Will sing through my soul from beyond And together we'll be chasing the dawn Can't wait Life’s too good to waste

Eventually 03:40
If I could, yes I would Tell you that I love you to your face One more time You would smile, you would see There's nowhere in the world I'd rather be Than by your side We all take the river to the bay Someday If I could, yes I would Do a little dance to make you laugh One more time You could stay, stay with me As long as you need. I would reside By your side We all take the river to the sea Eventually If I could, yes I would Say your name and have it reach your ears One more time You would say my name too Then we would embrace. I'd breathe the air By your side We all take the river to the sea Eventually

Safe With Me 05:27
Come, sugar Lay your body down, next to mine Come, sugar Lay your body down, next to mine There's so much that we could worry about Could get stranded in the fear and the doubt But sometimes we've got to let it all out Lay your body down If you just wanna, say Something dirty to me baby Or if you just wanna, play with another human being If you just wanna, feel In your bones or even deeper So totally, Free To be who you wanna be Then you're safe with me Come, Sugar Lay your loving down, next to mine Let the screens you can't unsee with your eyes Go blind Hold me closer There's hard times on the way Hold me closer My, the weather has changed Hold me closer For the future is strange Lay your loving down If if you just wanna, say Something dirty to me baby Or if you just wanna, play with another human being If you just wanna, feel In your bones or even deeper So totally, Free To get what you need Then you're safe with me Wait, the hour has crossed from late; Into red morning light Remembering the night; The freedom in your eyes I check but you have gone; Could you have been someone With whom love could have grown; I guess we'll never know. There’s beauty in that though.

Brief Candle 03:33
There's a list of things that god regrets Written on a pack of cigarettes There's a fine line and little time Between when we live and when we die There's a fallen angel in my car His wings are clipped so he can't fly far He says times are tough when push comes to shove Hang onto what you love Cry for me but not tonight Life is short and then we fly Out of sight and into heart and mind There's a holy book that disagrees With the likes of you and the likes of me But we've got our own so we'll do fine With that god of yours and this god of mine There's a man who has no god at all He wrote the truth on a bathroom wall Says we should have no regrets at all When our maker comes to call Cry for me but not tonight Life is short and then we fly Out of sight and into heart and mind There's a brief candle we all hold And the flame it dies as we grow old When the candles out we're good as gone And the living cry and the dead move on And the devil sings a lullaby He wakes the dead just to say goodnight Then he bows his head and walks away And leaves us with the pain

She's your widowmaker She's the great capsizer She's your undertaker There's no life inside her She's black shoes She's the blues She's that heavy heavy She's your history pages There's no peace insider her She is still contagious She's the news She's the blues She's that bread and butter She's your healthcare pages She's that fee we'll charge you She's that time we'll save you She's the ruse She's the blues
6.
Foolish 03:54
Cracks in your ice sheet; Your oceans rising Hopes glow like stones in your great gas fire thing Sharp stinging nets cast to comb your seas Islands of waste with a plastic beach Your eyes shut Your hands free It's foolish, whatever this is. Tents in the streets where your neighbor's sleeping Rooms loud as tombs in the house you're keeping Trust thin as tin wrapped around your reach Fearful of difference in looks and speech Your ears shut So no screams It's foolish, whatever this is. All of the time in the world goes flying Watching a box full of fake worlds thriving Playing the game like we can't steer fate Wait and we wait til it's far too late None can't smell None can't taste It’s foolish, whatever this is.

about

One month before the world was ordered to stay at home, if it could, to help flatten the curve, minimalist songwriter Julian Wild decided to stay at home for a month to write and record an album. He sequestered himself inside of his Washington, DC studio and created this follow-up to his debut, 2019's The Brightroom Sessions, Vol. I. Throughout the 29 days of February, Wild wrote and recorded fourteen songs (8 of which made the tracklist), all the while dealing with the obstacle of isolation. "The routines are all the same now," he wrote in his journal on day 16, "meditation, yoga, breakfast, practice, writing, recording, ride my bike, read, dinner, sleep, repeat. The meditation and the music are the only places I can go to explore new real estate." On the album, intricate and wholly pleasant finger-picked acoustic and electric guitars create a sonic garden that feels warm and whimsical. An honest and moving vocal performance throughout from Wild's breathy-baritone pipes keeps the ears satisfied while exploring themes of wonder, life, love and lust as well as death, loss, extinction and pancakes. The exploration, as it turns out, was far from over with regard to living in lockdown. As of today May 1, the artist remains in good health and high spirits, still sheltering at home.
