You blocked me, I’m invisible Erased my number from your phone What a dramatic thing to do To someone you love, who loves you too Maybe it’s the right call You’ve been changing so fast Who knows if you’re the one I fell for at all Exile from your dreamworld You reckoned I had done you wrong Then left like some sad cowboy song You commandeered reality Deleted me from memory Maybe it’s the right call You’ve been breaking so strange Who knows if you’re someone I ever knew at all Exile from your dreamworld

Looking at a one in a million rebel in a red dress How did things get to be such a mess I never meant to confuse the issue A box of chocolates and a box of tissue Believe me when I say that I miss you OwhyO Driving home on a heart-shaped, corporate holiday There’s irony in the snow that’s caked on the window panes I wasn’t looking but I found the answer In the empty place where all of our plans were And we’re both lying when we say that it don’t hurt OwhyO There’s an Ivory tower on the top of my heart That just knew we were forever even back at the start I guess all those expectations really tore us apart now didn’t they And now you’re crying me a river from a mile away Sending floating letters on a Valentine’s Day And I’m telling you, baby, if there’s so much to say Just say it OwhyO

Even behind closed eyes I feel you on the other side Blue as skies in summer time A beach warmed by the sun Dancing without restraint Overzealous onlookers Are talking about us Green as dollar bills Right now I’m the one But later alligator You’ll go back to him Consider me a sin Little Magnet Feet against the street The smell of piss and pavement Our adventure dies The color draining from your eyes Now it’s black and white I see that hooks that tear your skin You’ll go back to him Consider me a sin Little Magnet

Softer than silence Older than science Love has its way with me Quest without answers Invisible dancer Quiet catastrophe Silent detractor What are you after Doubting a thing so sure Love is confusing It can soothe and sting Feelings where my thoughts were I’ve walked away from Plenty of bad things; started as good ones Asteroids who Don’t like my orbit; leave for a new sun Back where I started from Colder than crying Bolder than lying Love has its way with me Whimsical wonder Sky that’s asunder Monstrous masterpiece Tiny red spiders Love from inside her Invade when I inhale Why do you want me Love how you haunt me Leaving this blooded trail I’ve hit my stride more Times than I’d like to do anything I do Just once I’d like To see what comes after I subvert disaster And everything is alright

Sugar your look was sharp
 You ran me through
There was my shield of grief
 All split in two
I woke from a five year dream
 And couldn't move
 I felt like I'd lived a death
I couldn't prove
The world was a different place
And love had a different face
I must have seemed so confused

Darlin it's hard to say
 But might be true
I think I've been afraid
 Of loving you
I've been down this road before
It feels like I've been to war
and I know what it's like to lose

 It's like no earthly destination
And a train that never came
And you're standing on the platform in the rain

 Darlin your walls were clear
 I saw right through
There was your shield of grief
 All split in two
You woke from a six year dream
 And couldn't move
A wound in your neck that
 Nothing seems to soothe
The world was a different place
And love had a different face
You must have been so confused

It's like a wasp nest in your pocket
 With your wallet underneath
and All you need is twenty dollars for your dreams

 Darlin it's to say
 But might be true
I think I've been afraid
Of loving you
I've been down this road before
It feels like I've been through war
I know what it's like to lose

 You

about

Some songs slipped through the cracks of the continuum. Time moved so strangely and slowly during the shutdown. But somewhere along the way, I turned on a microphone and started making records again. I found a deep need to release these personal histories I’ve been holding on to so tightly. All of these stories that I’ve lived through and written about and never found a way to release started to feel like weights in my shoes as I looked forward to writing and recording more new material. Just like anyone, I imagine in some way, I’ve been in love. Sometimes for fleeting moments and sometimes for years. When it evolves into something that isn’t love anymore, I always feel a desperate urge to repair or rebuild it. However, by that time, it’s gone. Just like this collection, it’s already run its course in the way it was meant to be. These songs aren’t exactly cohesive. They don’t all feel “finished”. But they tell the stories of five times in my life when I was hurting from losing the feeling of love. Which is a truth, and a weight, that I think deserves to be released. I hope you can find some value in listening. And I’m grateful for your ear and your time.
